Welcome — You’re in the Right Place

Whether you’ve never set foot in a church or you’re simply asking questions, this is a safe place to explore who Jesus is and what the Christian faith is all about.

Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is at the heart of the Christian faith. Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who entered our world as a real person, fully human and fully divine. He was born in humble circumstances, lived among ordinary people, and showed compassion to the poor, the sick, and those who felt far from God.

Through his teaching, Jesus spoke about God’s deep love for every person and invited people into a new kind of life marked by forgiveness, mercy, and hope. He healed the broken, welcomed outcasts, and challenged injustice, revealing what God’s kingdom looks like in everyday life.

Christians follow Jesus because they believe his death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead opened the way for us to be reconciled with God. In Jesus, we discover a Savior who knows our pain, carries our burdens, and offers us a relationship with God that begins now and continues into eternity.

What Do Christians Believe?

While Christian traditions have different ways of expressing their faith, most Christians share a core set of beliefs, including:

  • God’s love for humanity — Christians believe in one God who created all things and loves every person deeply and personally.
  • Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection — Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sake, and rose from the dead, overcoming sin and death.
  • Forgiveness and grace — Through Jesus, God offers forgiveness for our sins, not because we earn it, but as a free gift of grace.
  • Eternal life — Christians trust that, in Christ, death is not the end. God invites us into eternal life with Him, beginning now and fulfilled in His presence forever.
  • The Bible as Holy Scripture — Christians receive the Bible as God’s inspired word, a trustworthy guide that reveals His character, His promises, and His purposes for our lives.

Where Do I Start?

If you’re new to Christianity, you don’t need to have everything figured out. You can begin simply by being honest with God, asking your questions, and opening your heart to learn more about Jesus. Take small steps: read a passage from the Gospels, talk with a trusted Christian friend, or spend a few quiet moments in prayer, even if you’re not sure what to say.

The Coptic Orthodox Church is a place where questions are welcomed and where people walk together in faith, doubt, and discovery. You’re invited to move at your own pace, to listen, to seek, and to experience God’s love for yourself.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
